A Father’s Story of Loss, Hope, and the Importance of Tough Conversations
Parenting a teenager today can be overwhelming. Headlines shout, “Teen mental health crisis!” without guidance on what to do. As a parent, it can feel impossible to know the difference between “typical” and concerning teen behaviors. The good news is you don’t need all the answers to parent your teen with understanding, awareness, and compassion. View our webinar recording to listen to Dr. Anne Marie Albano, Lumate Health Co-Founder and a leading child and adolescent psychologist at Columbia University, as she talks with John Trautwein, founder of the Will to Live Foundation and a former Red Sox player who’s now in the major leagues of fatherhood. John shares his story about why communication is critical, even when you think your teen is not listening. Dr. Albano describes how parents can listen to and connect with their teens.
During this webinar, you will learn:
- Why it’s so essential to have open and honest communication with your teen,
- Recognize signs that your teen’s stress might have developed into problematic anxiety, and
- Learn concrete tips for beginning difficult conversations
