Ayana J. Byam-Holston is a 2017 alumna of Kennesaw State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and minored in Psychology and Public Health. She has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, working in various settings and roles from a Certified Nursing Assistant in assisted living facilities to working alongside medical practitioners as a Senior Medical Secretary at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. She also has 10 years experience as a certified personal trainer.
Ayana’s passion for working with teenagers and their families encouraged her to spearhead a mentorship program for high school girls called “Empow-HER”. The mission is to empower teenage girls to show up as the best version of themselves by embracing their uniqueness, all while maintaining and building upon their spiritual, mental, and physical health in preparation for their transition from adolescence into adulthood. Community service engagement is a pivotal element in the program such as meal preparations, clothing drives, and back-to-school community events.
As the Director of Intake Services, Ayana takes pleasure in being the initial point of contact for teens and their families and providing that warm welcome that is so needed at this monumental phase. She knows first-hand and understands the importance of having a strong support system, especially in the clinical setting, when it comes down to your mental and physical health by creating a positive experience from the beginning that will carry on throughout.
Ayana lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and 3 children. She enjoys traveling and beach-bumming with her family, event planning, spending time outdoors, cooking large dinners for family gatherings, and binge-watching 80’s movies.
